Ages 8-15
Beginner - Intermediate
The Youth Training Program is structured for kids aged 8-15, who can be placed on a scale of beginner to intermediate. The goal of this program is to build a group that is dedicated to train together, and embodies the cornerstone of the program: team-work, discipline, and resilience.
The key element behind running a successful youth program is to create a structured platform that urges the kids to take the sport more seriously. To prepare for this transition, the first step is to introduce small habits that go a long way: bringing fruits to training, establishing the importance of rest and proper sleep, and introducing the need for better time management.
Secondly, as coaches, it is our job to make them understand that the role of an athlete extends far beyond the boundaries of the playing arena. To be an athlete is to manage their schedules by themselves, stay focused and disciplined in their studies as well as other activities, and most importantly to push themselves in training as much as they can. The transition to competitive Table Tennis is not an easy one, but, in group training they have each other to rely on. Post Covid, we have witnessed the growth of the Youth Training Program through the connections and friendships that develop between the kids along the way. The value of these bonds is unparalleled as they learn to stick together.
The aim of the youth program is to introduce every kid to competitions that will push them to deal with difficult emotions such as winning and losing, and to eventually develop the skills of quick thinking under high pressure situations. As coaches, our aim is to facilitate their growth by staying closely involved in three aspects: mental training, physical fitness, and skill development.
