Congratulations to Aaron Du: Ottawa’s 2025 Table Tennis Athlete of the Year!

We are thrilled to celebrate a major milestone for one of our own — Aaron Du has been officially selected as the Ottawa Sports Award winner for the city’s top Table Tennis athlete in 2025.

This honour, presented by the Ottawa Sports Awards Committee, recognizes young athletes who exemplify excellence, dedication, sportsmanship, and leadership in their sport. Aaron has been training at True North Table Tennis Centre in Scarborough. He continues to hone his skills under the guidance of national team coaches Eugene Wang and Hongtao Chen.


Key Performance Highlights – 2025

Aaron’s selection is backed by an outstanding year of competitive achievements at the regional, provincial, national, and international levels:

  • October 2025: Ranked #3 in Canada – Junior Boys U16 (National)

  • September 2025: Nova Open (International) – Open Category Finalist

  • August 2025: WTT Youth Championships (International) – U17 Quarter Finalist

  • March 2025: Quebec Circuit (Provincial) – Teams Category & Division A Singles Finalist

  • April 2025: Quebec Circuit Big Bang (Provincial) – Teams Category – 3rd Place

  • April & May 2025: OTTC Challenge (Regional) – Class A & U19 Champion


This competitive résumé reflects not just talent, but a year defined by relentless work ethic, mental toughness, and the ability to perform under pressure.

This event marks the 73rd consecutive year of celebrating the city’s top amateur athletes, coaches, and teams. Aaron now joins an elite group of Ottawa athletes recognized for excellence.
