International Women's Day

Greetings folks!

March is an exciting month as we celebrate International Women’s Week, and Women’s Day on 8th March. The history of Women’s Day can be traced back to 1908 when 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding better pay and the right to vote. Over time, women’s involvement in all spheres of life has grown exponentially. However, this growth did not happen by chance. It came about through the labor of generations of women who took it upon themselves to demand the right to equality and freedom.

This International Women’s Week, we celebrate the extraordinary women who are a part of our lives, and all the women around the world!

The Ottawa Table Tennis Club requests its members to wear Purple (the official colour of International Women’s Day) to commemorate the occasion on March 4th, and March 8th.
